Of Counsel Clarisse Young Shumaker is a litigation attorney with a specialization in corporate insolvency matters. She has represented debtors in possession, institutional creditors and creditors' committees in addition to numerous clients in real estate related bankruptcy matters. She has also handled fraud issues in bankruptcy cases.
Ms. Shumaker worked on one of the largest Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases in the San Francisco Bay Area involving numerous related real estate investment and financial entities and hundreds of investors. She previously obtained confirmation of a Chapter 11 plan for a horse ranch, at the time the only successful Chapter 11 plan for a horse ranch in the country.
Ms. Shumaker became Of Counsel with the firm in 2010. She was formally Of Counsel to Stutman, Treister & Glatt and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker.
