Gina A. Leago joined Parker Shumaker Mills LLP in August 2005 and became a partner of the firm in January 2013. Ms. Leago hails from Houston, Texas, graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Political Science and Sociology. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Whittier College School of Law in 1996, where she graduated top 10 percent of her class. While in law school, Ms. Leago was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for Civil Trial Advocacy and for Alternative Dispute Resolution.

 

Ms. Leago has a wide range of civil litigation and trial experience, primarily in the areas of business litigation, professional liability and personal injury. She is also well-versed in insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, products liability, toxic tort, sexual harassment and trade secret disputes.

 

Ms. Leago has a strong passion for trial work and has  successfully tried over 10 cases in Los Angeles County and Santa Barbara County. She also serves as an arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court, is a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association. Ms. Leago is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California, including the California Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court, Central District.

Ms. Leago is an avid runner and has completed three Los Angeles marathons.  She has served as a volunteer for Sojourn Battered Women’s Shelter and for the Assistance League of Long Beach.
