Of Counsel Bennett Yankowitz is an experienced corporate and business lawyer with excellent negotiation and drafting skills. With over 20 years of practice with national law firms, he specializes in business and financial transactions and securities matters for corporations and partnerships, investor groups, commercial banks, investment banks, money managers and financial institutions. Mr. Yankowitz has considerable experience in drafting public and foreign securities offerings, private placements and mergers and acquisitions documentation. Areas in which he has particular expertise are secured and unsecured corporate credit facilities, municipal financings, asset securitizations, syndicated loan facilities, project financings, leveraged leases, entertainment financings and leveraged buyouts. He worked on some of the first credit-enhanced bond financings backed by commercial real estate, completing over $600 million of these transactions. In addition, he has structured a number of investment partnerships, hedge funds and venture capital investments.
As a real estate developer and investor, Mr. Yankowitz specializes in redevelopment projects. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Proteus Energy Corporation, a California-based oil and gas company that he founded in 2003. He became Of Counsel to Parker Shumaker Mills in 2011.
